Description:
Avalanche is currently looking for a versatile senior level magnetic thin film materials
scientist to be an integral part of its MTJ development team. This is a unique opportunity
to be on the ground floor of a successful team of technologists developing a novel magnetic
memory technology that will revolutionize the digital world.
Responsibilities:
- Research novel materials and material compositions to enhance Avalanche's MTJ development efforts
- Design experimental deposition programs to explore effects on MTJ performance
- Perform necessary measurements and in-depth analysis to select the best design
- Work closely with circuit and BEOL processing team to integrate new MTJ structures
Skills:
- Recent relevant magnetic materials and device experience
- Knowledge of deposition processes using state-of-the-art PVD cluster tools
- Knowledge of advanced testing and necessary computational modeling to understand the underlying mechanisms
- Experience with next generation memory technologies such as MRAM, STT-MRAM, FeRAM, etc. preferred
- Good written and oral communication skills with a proven track record of innovation and intellectual property development preferred
- Ability to produce results working independently while successfully collaborating as part of a high performance team
Experience:
Extensive background in experience of magnetic thin-film material and device development in
the magnetic storage or semiconductor industry is preferred.
Education:
Ph.D. in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Physics

Description:
Avalanche is currently looking for a versatile senior level semiconductor process integration
engineer to be an integral part of its MRAM development team. This is a unique opportunity to
be on the ground floor of a successful team of technologists developing a novel magnetic
memory technology that will revolutionize the digital world.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the development team to define/design BEOL process flow for existing magnetic devices into advanced CMOS process technology
- Design, coordinate and run related experiments, including detailed results documentation and reporting
- Manage process integration with CMOS foundry partners
- Ensure performance, cost, yield and reliability objectives are met
- Additional responsibilities may include testing, modeling, concept and manufacturing strategic inputs
- International travel will be required
Skills:
- Hands-on experience of RIE of novel materials
- Wet, dry etch; photo, litho; CVD a plus
- Collection of metrology data; operation of multiple equipment types
- Extensive familiarity with advanced copper CMOS processes
- Worked closely with the design and test teams to resolve processing issues
- Meticulous documentation experience; ability to work independently with senior management yet cooperate closely with development team
Experience:
- 10+ years experience in semiconductor process integration, preferably with memory products.
- Familiarity with memory (DRAM, SRAM) processes especially non-volatile (NOR or NAND flash memory) required; MRAM
(magnetic-RAM) or other emerging memory experience is a strong plus.
Education:
BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or other similar field application to semiconductor technology

be an integral part of its MRAM development team. This is a unique opportunity to be on the ground
floor of a successful team of technologists productizing a novel magnetic memory technology that will
revolutionize the digital world.
Responsibilities:
- Develop etch processes for Avalanche's MRAM products
- Work closely with manufacturing partners to integrate etch process into high volume manufacturing
environments
- Work with technical and business teams to define and select etch tools
- Work closely with circuit and BEOL processing team to integrate new MTJ structures
- Device testing and characterization
Skills:
- Recent hands-on experience with Reactive Ion (RIE) and Ion Beam Etch (IBE)
- Knowledge of industry RIE and IBE tools such as Canon Anelva, Jusong, Tegal or others. Vendor
relationships preferred.
- Relevant magnetic materials and device experience
- Experience with next generation memory technologies such as MRAM, STT-MRAM, FeRAM, Phase Change, etc.
- Good written and oral communication skills with a proven track record of innovation and
intellectual property development preferred
- Ability to produce results working independently while successfully collaborating as part of a high
performance team
Experience:
Extensive background in experience of magnetic thin-film material and device development in the
magnetic storage or semiconductor industry is preferred.
Education:
